Making India Self-Reliant in Defence

Record ₹1.54 Lakh Crore Defence Output & Exports

The infographic highlights India’s historic milestone: defence production reached ₹1.54 lakh crore in FY 2024–25, a dramatic rise in the domestic defence manufacturing sector. The growth is fueled by active participation from both public sector and private companies under the Make-in-India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

It also shows that exports shot up to ₹23,622 crore, reflecting global demand for Indian defence products. The infographic breaks down how MSMEs and smaller firms are contributing to this surge, underlining their role in high-value systems and components.

Strategically, this growth is not just economic — it’s geopolitical. India is building itself as a defence export hub, reducing reliance on foreign arms imports, and strengthening its industrial base. The graphic drives home how deepening capacity in defence is central to both national security and economic growth.
