Innovation in Motion

A Sustainable Voyage

Engineering students in Guwahati have developed solar-powered boats to help residents in flood-affected regions. These boats run entirely on renewable energy and can carry up to eight passengers per trip.

The project started as a college research initiative but quickly gained attention from local authorities. It’s now being tested in rural villages where traditional transport becomes impossible during monsoons.

The solar boats are a shining example of how youth-led innovations can directly improve lives and promote sustainable mobility solutions.
